Our Beginning 

Formed in 1960, our company Empire Roofing was created by Albert Martin. Al, as everyone called him, raised seven children while working on and off the roofs of Billings and the surrounding areas. Al often dropped by the shop periodically to bend some metal and shoot the breeze with workers. He is greatly missed but his integrity and devotion to quality work remains at the forefront of every project.

Growing Our Roofing Company 

Everett Martin, Al's second youngest son, started working on the roof at the age of 10, helping to carry hot buckets of asphalt to workers on numerous projects during the summer. Everett began working on the roof full-time at the age of 18. He quickly advanced himself through the ranks on the roof, and before he was 30, he was a part owner of the company.

In 1994 Everett took over Empire Roofing with his father, Al, still helping with day-to-day activities and bending metal in the shop. Everett quickly advanced Empire Roofing into the modern age of roofing by recognizing that single-ply membranes and standing seam metal roofing were the future. Everett quickly started to see that the single-ply membranes on the market needed to go through many generations of advancement to reach the level they are today in terms of performance.
 

Everett has over 30 years of experience with Burke Hypalon and various EPDMs, PVCs, and TPOs on the market today. He has also seen advances from their infancy. He has over 40 years of on-roof experience and is regularly contacted by architects and engineers to help consult on roof designs and problems.

Moving Forward 

Jake Martin, Everett's son, started to work in the metal shop during high school after school and sports practice with Al to help build metal for projects. Jake went from the metal shop to working on various projects as a laborer to working in the office and roof. Jake now works full-time with Empire Roofing after earning his degree in Construction Engineering from Montana State University.
 

Mike Enderson joined the company in the winter of 2008. Mike's previous careers were in the general contractor field. He previously worked for McCarthy in Pheonix, Arizona, and Fisher Construction in Billings, Montana. Mike has proven to be an asset to Empire Roofing and the general project contractors. Mike handles much of the office's estimating and performs many project supervisor duties.
